The Schloif is one of the best Whitewater-courses in the Salza-Region. If it's waterlevel is high enough (Spring and after rainfall), that is.

But the Schloif can be enjoyed by bike or by foot as well.

The Cache is hidden a bit downriver near a bridge over the river. You have to cross the bride to reach the cache.

If you come by bike or by foot, start at the Parkingplace near the Imbachbrücke at the lower end of the gorge. You can't go up through the whole gorge since the upper bridge has been swept away.
Length (roundtrip): 60-75 min.

Hallo miteinander

Found 26 July 2006 cezanne found the geocache

As it was a very hot day and as we were already a bit tired from our hike in the Wasserloch gorge, we decided to choose a short, relaxing cache as our final cache for this special day. The starting point of the cache was easy to find and we even found a place to leave our car. The way to the cache until the bridge was one of the easiest ways I have ever experienced with a cache hidden by gebu.

The bridge is quite spectacular - I used it in both directions while Alice preferred to go back through the Schloif as she was wearing her Teva sandals.

Shortly before the bridge we came along a strange sort of large stone on the other side of the Schloif. We still do not know the origin of that object. Shortly thereafter we came across a gate belonging to water conduit which supplies the water for the city of Vienna.

It took us about 15 minutes to find the well-hidden cache. I was already very close to the hideout when I decided to search in another area. I walked up and down the slope quite a few times which made me sweat a lot. The cache box and its contents are in good condition. It is an honour to find the cache as second finders after M.W.

On our way back to the car lots of annyoing insects were around and our insect repellent had unfortunately remained in Alice's car.

Thanks for the relaxing walk. Alice explained me quite a few things about basic knowledge that is important for kayaking in rivers during this walk.
