Abstract

Short hike (approx. 3 km) with light inclination from Bremerhof to Humbergturm and back.

You'll definitifely need a mobile phone as you have to call a web cam while standing on the tower. You can remote control the web cam using touch tones. The web cam will take a picture and reveal the hint to the final coordinates.

Parking

You'll probably want to start at Bremerhof. There is one large parking lot, two restaurants and a nice playground. After you've found the cache, you might want to treat yourself to a cold beer in the Biergarten if weather permits. Going past the Biergarten into the forest, you'll come to another playground.

Your Quest

At the parking lot, there are two boards with maps of the area, the World Cup tracks for runners and trails. Find a sticker with a number on it (its sum of digits is 17). Multiply this number by 756 to get the phone number of the web cam. I'd suggest you call this number right after you get it in order to test the connection to the camera. If you don't hear the camera's greetings message, the connection is down. In this case, wait and try again. If problem persists, send me a message, please.

Now follow from the parking lot in southeast direction trail #2 to Humbergturm.

Next to the trail, sometime you'll find the remnants of a bank. There's not seat, just rocks which probably constituted the base that once held the seat. Carved into the stones you'll read "VVK" and below a three digit number A. Write down this number as you'll need it to calculate a PIN later on.

After you reached the Humbergturm, go up and find the plate which indicates the direction of some buildings, churches and local parts of Kaiserslautern. Each direction is assigned a number. Direction "Marienkirche" is assigned number B. Multiply A and B to get the PIN.

Final

Call the camera using phone number from above. You'll hear a welcome message "Take your web cam picture now - Nimm ein Bild von dir auf!" and will be prompted for the PIN.

Enter PIN code and finish with # key. Type slowly - one digit after another. The web cam will confirm every key it has received. If your PIN code is correct, you'll hear "PIN code accepted!".

Now fulfill the log condition. To take a picture of yourself: while still on the viewing platform, stand as conspicuously as possible, smile into the camera and press 6. Wait until the camera replies with "User click event". Then press # key. The camera will acknowledge "OK". The picture has been taken. Write down the time! The camera tells you what time it is by pressing 4 und # key.

Now press 5 and # key in order to have the camera tell you the missing hint to finde the cache, number C.

You'll find the cache at:

log condition

Please add the picture made by the camera to your log. Only Logs with pictures are accepted. One should be able to see that someone is on the viewing platform of Humbergturm. Yet sometimes the weather is bad or the lens dim, so you can't really see anything on the picture. Nevertheless, post your image.

The web cam is approximately two kilometers away from Humbergturm. Until noon, the camera has to cope with a strong back light situation resulting in low contrast. The images will rather look like a shadow play. In the afternoon the situation improves as the tower is now well lit. Your best bet is to stand on one side of the tower with sky in your back seen from town.

Camera stores images at humbergturm.kabsi.de. If there are several images, look at the timestamp to find your image. As watermarks the images contain logos of opencaching.de and geocaching.com. Only genuine images containing the watermarks are accepted. The current webcam image is updated every ten minuts while sun permits.

Bitte bei Statusänderungen, die auf geocaching.com durchgeführt werden, auch immer hier den Status ändern. Dieser Cache ist auf geocaching.com (GC15HKJ) archiviert und hier nicht mit dem Attribut "OC only" versehen. Das letzte Funddatum liegt lange zurück und das Ownerlog auf geocaching.com läßt darauf schließen, dass der Cache nicht weiter existieren soll, da die Webcam nicht mehr genutzt werden kann. Aus diesem Grunde archiviere ich ihn auch hier. Sollten sich später neue Aspekte ergeben, so kann dieses Listing durch den Owner selbständig über ein "kann gesucht werden"-Log reaktiviert werden.

Hallo,
bei einem Besuch in KL auch diesen schönen Cache gemacht. Die ersten Zahlen waren schnell ermittelt, die Webcam getestet und so konnte der Aufstieg beginnen. Unterwegs dann noch die Bank gefunden und am Turm noch die fehlenden Zahlen ermittelt. Die Funktionen der Webcam waren dann auch kein Problem und so konnte das Final ermittelt werden. Also habe ich mich auf den Weg dorthin gemacht. Je näher ich dem Ziel kam desto seltsamer kam mir das vor. Also nochmals gerechnet und auch nochmals die Webcam aufgerufen . Die Kordinaten bleiben die gleichen. Dann doch zu der errechneten Stelle durchgekämpft und auch die Dose nach kurzer Suche gefunden.
Warum die aber so weit vom Weg weg liegen muss hat sich mir nicht ganz erschlossen. Vielen Dank dennoch für diese schöne Tour und den interessanten Cache.

Auf dem Turm

22. avril 2017, 07:27 kerdir trouvé la géocache

Heute hatte Frau kerdir auch Zeit zum Cachen und da wechselhaftes Wetter angesagt war, wurde es nur eine kleine Tour. So war die Möglichkeit gegeben zu jeder Zeit aufzuhören oder sich eventuell kurz Schutz in einer (hütte oder im Turm) zu suchen. Da wir auf den Humbergturm wollten traf es sich gut diesen Mysterie mit zu machen das wir etwas zu tun haben bis zum Turm😁. Die kennzeichnung der wegführung ist etwas seltsam hier. mal waren wir auf weg 2 dann wieder nicht und dann standen wir am fuß des turms ohne Zahl A. Jetzt war guter Rat teuer so oder so ähnlich, dank eines Tj (Danke dafür) konnten die Zahl A ermittelt werden. Und der rest war anstrengend über 150 stufen bis oben.

Bei schönstem Sonnenschein ging es heute mit cachertier90 in Richtung Kaiserlautern um den König Albrecht Weg Multi zu erwandern.
Am Humberturm ging es nach einer Picknick Pause nach oben um ein Photo zu machen und die Werte für den Arkanum Cache zu sichern.
Beim 2. Versuch schafften wir es der "Webcam" ein brauchbares Bild zu entlocken.

Im Anschluss ging es erst zum Finale des Arkanum XVI Multis.
Danke für das erhalten dieser alten Dose!

Auf dem Weg Richtung Bremerhof konnten wir erfolgreich das Finale des "Humbergturm mit Bild" Mysteries finden und loggen. Hier lasse ich für die tolle Umsetzng gerne ein blaues Herzchen zurück!

La géocache est en bon ou acceptable état. 12. février 2017 bu-be trouvé la géocache

Diesen "Webcam"-Cache wollte ich schon lange angehen. Heute bot sich endlich die Gelegenheit dazu: ein Besuch bei der Verwandtschaft und ein Nachmittagsspaziergang vom Bremerhof zum Humbergturm. Dabei wurden die Werte gefunden und die (Rechen)aufgaben gelöst.
Die Kamera war erreichbar und gab auch den letzten benötigten Wert bekannt. Aber das Bild um 15:30 Uhr hatte sie leider nicht abgespeichert, daher hänge ich das Aktuell-Bild von 16:36 Uhr an. Wegen des Nebels wären wir oben auf dem Turm wohl auch nicht zu erkennen... Sollte ich denmächst wieder hierher kommen, mache ich einen weiteren Versuch, versprochen.

Am Ende konnte die große Dose gefunden und das Logbuch signiert werden.
Für die Idee binde ich gerne einen bleue Schleife an Kamera und Telefon.
