Limited access, a lot of muggles, sulfur-stenches and an almost alpine 2.5h ascend to this spot in approx. 990m height - what a place! Access is pretty limited - it is only allowed to small groups with an official guide - we were told, the fine would otherwise be 500 Euros.

Not fo forget the danger of stones being thrown at you by Stromboli!
So... helmets on!

Only being allowed to reach the top of Stromboli in guided groups, it may be easier to get the cache during bad weather conditions with (very) limited visibility :-)

1. Good weather: excellent view of the crater

2. Bad weather: better searching conditions, but no sight of the crater

( If you had the chance to see the very bad condition of the cache on Volcano, please feel free to bring new plastic bags to protect this cache from the sulfur stenches and its corroding capabilities.)

Dieser Cache ist laut einer vorliegenden Meldung nur noch erreichbar, wenn man die geführte Gruppe verlässt, was nicht erlaubt ist. Der Cache sollte daher an einen anderen Ort verlegt werden, sodass der Cache wieder legal erreicht werden kann. Sofern das nicht bis zum 08.10.2012 passiert, werde ich den Cache archivieren.

Referring to a report, this cache may only be logged by leaving the guided group, but that´s not allowed. The position of the cache should be changed, that the cache can be logged legally. If that will not happen until October 8th 2012, I will archive the cache.
