Another cache on the John_Musgrave_Heritage_Trail - this time on the section to the north of Cockington. This valley (which appears to be un-named on the OS map but if it isn't called Cockington Valley it ought to be) stretches from the village of Cockington almost to the Torbay Ring Road (A380) - a distance close to a mile.

The cache is a 900ml Click-n-Lock style camouflaged container hidden a few feet from the footpath.

Suggested route - Park at N 50° 28.222 W 003° 33.726 ... head north-west along Nut Bush Lane to  N 50° 28.302 W 003° 33.827 and turn left on to the footpath, from this point the valley will become visible and although there are a few twists and turns along this path generally you can trust your GPSr arrow to lead you to the cache. Once the cache has been found, you could re-trace your steps back to the parking area, but for a little variety try the route south-east (towards Cockington) until you reach the road, turn left uphill, and arriving at the parking area.

Two notes on the cache attributes -

1. You will note that I have set the attribute for "Not recommended at night" - there is no reason to suppose that the cache shouldn't be attempted at night - but you'll miss the view.

2. I tried to find the attribute for "muddy path" - Wellies, or well waxed walking boots are the order of the day, certainly at the time of hiding.

The usual range of geoswag has been hidden in the cache along with the obvious logbook, pen, etc.

While you're in the area don’t forget to check out Scadson Survey Terracache if you haven’t found it yet.
