Von dieser Anlage ist nur noch der so genannten Pulverturm am Mühlenwall vorhanden. Es ist ein halbrunder Schalenturm aus Backstein mit niedrigen Hosenscharten, der mit Hilfe von Hakenbüchsen verteidigt werden konnte. Er stammt wohl noch aus dem 15. oder frühen 16. Jahrhundert. Auch die noch erhaltenen Umflut gehört zusammen mit der Ems zu den ehemaligen Wehranlagen.
The city was surrounded since the Middle Ages with a city wall and vorgelagertem kennel. From this system, only the so-called Powder Tower Mill Wall is available. It is a semi-circular brick tower shell with low pants nicks that could be defended by using harquebuses. He is probably still the 15th or early 16 Century. Also surviving is washed around together with the Ems to the former military installations.
