Botellón es un término que describe la costumbre extendida en España desde finales del siglo XX, sobre todo entre los jóvenes, de consumir bebidas alcohólicas, refrescos, snacks, tabaco e incluso, en algunos casos drogas ilegales, tanto duras como blandas, en grupos relativamente numerosos y en la vía pública.

La palabra botellón ya existía en el español de México con otro significado, y en argot botellón significaba bebida ilegal o de baja calidad. La costumbre de beber en la calle introdujo el nuevo uso del término.

El fenómeno ha sido estudiado por los sociólogos, que lo definen como reunión masiva de jóvenes de entre 16 y 24 años, fundamentalmente, en espacios abiertos de libre acceso, para beber la bebida que han adquirido previamente en comercios, escuchar música, y hablar.
