The Muna (institute for ammunition) Burgwald was planned in the context of National Socialist armament and built with large employment of funds starting from May 1936. It had a track connection to the National Railroad line Marburg - Warburg over the station Birkenbringhausen.
The entire plant was put in the middle of the national forest in the north of Wiesenfeld, so that a particularly good protection against air strikes prevailed. The shelters were integrated into the forest. The Muna took up and accommodated their enterprise 1938 to March 1945 bombs, Flak and on-board weapon ammunition, as well as shells with chemical agents. Even the Americans fell back to German personnel during the handling; it never came to an use! More to than 100 shelters blown up of the Americans give an impression which extent the plant had.
Already 1947 first companies settled and the Muna became known as Industriehof. Finally 1976 repented as regular community of the community Burgwald recognition, to date by the old community Wiesenfeld. 1996 rename of the Industriehof in the name Burgwald.

Das letzte Funddatum liegt lange zurück und die Logs auf geocaching.com () lassen darauf schließen, dass der Cache nicht mehr zu finden, nicht zu loggen oder in einem sehr schlechten Zustand ist. Aus diesem Grunde archiviere ich ihn auch hier. Sollten sich später neue Aspekte ergeben, so kann dieses Listing durch den Owner selbstständig über ein "kann gesucht werden"-Log reaktiviert werden.

Heute nutzte ich den frühen Freitagfeierabend mal wieder zu einer kleinen Cachetour. Hauptziel war der Lost-Place-Cache in Burgwald. Auf dem Hin- und Rückweg bot es sich an noch bei ein paar weiteren Dosen zu stoppen.
Nach dem Besuch des Panzers schaute ich noch beim Bunker vorbei. Nach kurzer Suche entdeckte ich die Dose. Naja, neben dem Bunkereingang ist hier auch relativ. [;)]
Dies war mein Fund Nummer 7937. Danke an Hörnchen01 fürs Verstecken!

In meiner Jugendzeit hieß der Ort noch Muna (Abkürzung für
Munitionsanstalt), später Industriehof und dann Burgwald. Hinter den
Namen stecken verschiedene Epochen und zeigt sich die Entwicklung durch
die Zeiten. Soweit ich weiß, gibt es auch Bunker, die heute als
Autogarage benutzt werden.
