Also diese Aufstiegshilfe, die Gebu da bei S1 gebaut hat - alle Ehre. Ich dachte mir, wenn er jetzt noch das Wasser im Bach unten aufdreht, knie ich nieder. Aber das hab ich mir gleich wieder überlegt. Wenn ich nämlich nicht schwer was übersehen habe, ist dort zu 90% Weg gleich Bachbett, und sollte da wirklich jemals Wasser rinnen, steigt der Schwierigkeitsgrad sicher locker auf 7*. Das, und die Tatsache, daß der Weg zumindest am Anfang wirklich ordentlich verlegt ist, lässt einen auch ein bisschen nachvollziehen, warum dieser Weg als Weg vermutlich zurecht in Vergessenheit geraten ist*. [:D]

Nach oben hin wirds aber besser. Das letzte Stück, wo die tiefstehende Sonne genau in der Verlängerung des Hohlweges stand, den der Bach dort geformt hat, und das feuchte, steinerne  Bachbett wunderschön zum Glitzern brachte, war sogar fast ein bisschen märchenhaft.

Erdbeernaschend gings dort dann den Hang hinauf zum Cache und schließlich weiter zu einem kleinen Sitzerl in der Sonne beim nahen, scheinbar fast obligatorischen Gebu-Platzerl. [:D]

(*) Den Cache würd ich hingegen nicht in Vergessenheit geraten lassen wollen.

Schon als wir den Forstweg betraten wussten wir, dass wir uns den Weg nach oben erkämpfen werden müssten. Doch, dass wir fast die gesamte Länge des "Vergessenen Weges" unter, drüber, rundherum um die Bäume klettern mussten, damit haben wir nicht gerechnet.
War ein tolles Abenteuer!

Irgendwas ist heute fahrtechnisch bei uns schief gelaufen. Den vorgeschlagenen Parkplatz haben wir nicht erreicht und dem Cache näherten wir uns von Norden. Man sollte halt die Wegbeschreibung gründlich lesen bevor man sich ins Auto setzt.

Trotz allem war der Cache bald gefunden. Die Tour werde ich trotzdem gelegentlich mal "richtig" machen :-)

Me, my mother and my children stayed for vacation in styria near Herbestein for a few days, I tried to increase my cache stat, too. But the weather gods weren't very merciful, it rained each afternoon :(. I outwaited a thunderstorm in Weiz, using the time to gain a hiking map of this area. 90 min later the storm has reduced to a drizzle of rain. using my new achieved map, the starting point was found easily. My running shoues soon got dripping wet from the moist vegetation, but sun already shone again, to guarantee a pleasant humidity ;). I entered the creekbed too early, left it on its right side, and struggled a lot to get back into it again before the gorge. The cache was found in good condition. Thx to gebu for this interesting and uncrowded area.

I think I was almost the last finder of the old cache, before the whitewater has swept everything away.

This cache attracted my attention right away when it showed up, but I neither wanted to go there in Winter nor alone. So, I had to wait for Alice's visit.

Fortunately, the weather was suitable today. It was cool in the morning, but still sunny when we found the cache. Alice had prepared some way points at home - so we managed to arrive at the forrester's lodge in Ponigl without major problems. I hate driving through Weiz since I always lose my way there.

The path to the cache is very nice. I am not sure whether it is a pity or a merit that it has been forgotten. We did not meet a single person and I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere very much.

I do not fully agree with Gert - for me using a normal ladder is easier than overcoming the two rocky parts of the path. I was glad that Alice was with me.

From this cache we continued to the "Hungry Mountain" cache. Shortly before we arrived back at the car it started to snow. So, Alice and myself experienced almost all types of weather during the last days.
