Short but steep hike to the ruin of the gallows of Raabs a. d. Thaya. There's a parking lot at N48°50,777 E015°30,330

"Gallows Hill"
In 1818 there was the last execution of an arsonist, from which fault one man died. This hill once was not wooded and the gallows from far away visibly. Also from the castle in Raabs the gallow was direct visibly. From this castle the duke gave the hangman the sign for the execution.
The family of the convict have to say goodnye at the "Urlauber Marterl" (Villensteig Nr.9).
The cache is a filmcanister and contains a logbook and a pencil. Please don't remove these things.

Cache an einem kalten Regentag gehoben.Sehr düstere Stimmung an diesen Ort. Durch gute Ortskenntnis fast ein Drive-In Cache.

Zwar die Zufahrt zu den Parkoordinaten verpasst, aber gerade dadurch fand ich zufällig einen nur mäßig steilen, angenehmen und beschilderten Weg zum Cache.
Ein heute besonders mysthisch anmutender Platz, der gehängte Brandstifter findet keine Ruhe...
