Münchner Kirchen - Offenbarungskirche

This cache is part of a series around churches (including all religions) which are of architectural or historical interest.

Though the Offenbarungskirche (Church of revelation) is neither an architectonical masterpiece nor offers a long and interesting history, it still demonstrates the imense population growth in the beginning of the last century.
Back in 1820 there lived only a few Protestants in the parish area, in 1831 the cathlic priest Duschl of Baumkirchen could tell the following about Protestants:

In the entire parish area live only 11 Protestants. You can't complain about them in general. There is nothing known of public nuisances

You need declerations like this one to be able to realize how far ecumenism already got.
In the next 80 years Berg am Laim and Munich became more crowded, the later was suburbanized in 1913. Thus arrived more and more Protestans, which had already affiliated in the Protestant club. They installed a praying room in the Baumkirchner Straße, (not far from the cache) service was ministered by the Protestant priest of Perlach.

But the community kept growing, so that there was a parish house built and inaugurated in 1928. In the next year the parish was founded with priest Högner leading it.
In 1961 the construction of the curch was begun end inaugurated one year later.

You won't realize the dimension if the population growth until you compare the situation with the photo when you are in front of the curch and the parish house.

Using Munich's public transport system (MVV) you can use the subway U2 or Bus 185 and get off Josephsburg or use the tramway 19 and get off at Mutschellestraße.
There is parking space right next to the cache, but normaly free lots are scarce.

Unfortunately there are many muggles round the cache location, it would be easier to try to find the cache after 08:00pm. But you don't need to crawl in a highly suspicious way through the brushwood. To the contrary you can use the obvious way to disguise you. The cache is the standard 35mm film canister and contains a log bok and a pencil. Have fun searching it.
