Description

The Oslofjord area, including the harbour, are a lovely region that show the wealth of the Norwegian country and the beautiful nature surounding the capital.

But near the Akerskus festing, a memorial reminds of a sad part of history, when in April 1990, only three months after its launch, a fire onboard the 142 metres long ferry caused the death of 159 people when it landed in the harbour of Oslo.

At the posted coordinates, you find a memorial featuring this catastrophe.

Mit der AIDA haben wir heute direkt gegenüber angelegt. So erfuhren wir gleich von dieser traurigen Geschichte an die ich mich gar nicht mehr erinnern konnte. Danke für diesen Virtual.

Nachdem nun die Cachebeschreibung korrigiert wurde, kann ich nun mit dem richtigen Namen endlich loggen.
Während unserer großen Norwegenrundreise war Oslo die letzte Station bevor es wieder in die Heimat ging. Natürlich haben wir bei einem schönen Spaziergang durch die City auch das Scandinavian Star-Memorial besucht. Die vielen Namen der Opfer machen schon nachdenklich. Schade fand ich, dass durch die Standortwahl ziemlich wenige Menschen den Weg hierher finden und das Denkmal ziemlich unbeachtet bleibt.
Vielen lieben Dank an König Moderig für's Zeigen.
