Dottendorf liegt am Hangrücken des Venusberg. Viele kleine Waldwege führen Kreuz und quer durch die nähere Umgebung.
Am Hindenburg Spielplatz ist einer der vielen Zugänge, die meist rauf auf den Venusberg selbst führen. Man kann sich aber auch oberhalb von kessenich / Dottendorf / Friesdorf am Hang entlang bewegen.
