In the meantime, Friedberg has its Elvis, Emden its Otto, Trier its Karl-Marx and Mainz its Mainzelmännchen as motifs on pedestrian traffic lights. The first Little Red Riding Hood traffic light has been in place in Ziegenhain since 2020. The fairy tale of Little Red Riding Hood is set in the Schwälmer Land. There, the young girls of Schwalm wore (and sometimes still wear) a bright red headdress as part of their traditional costume.
