Auenland – the Shire – is the first cache in a Lord-of-the-Rings-Serial. The coordinates above show the parking area.
You have to calculate the coordinates for the cache after finding the missing word in a quotation which is given in this text. You need an edition of Lord of the Rings, so you can look up the quotation to complete the text.
“But that was short of the mark, for ? guests were invited, and there were several meals at which it snowed food and rained drink as hobbits say.”
You need the missing number (?) to calculate the location of Shire.
A quarter of the guests is F!
The number of the guests multiplied with itself plus two times the amount of the guests plus one more guest is H.

The view out of the hobbit hole reminds of the atmosphere of the Shire.
You find a note for a bonus cache, belonging to the Lord-of-the-Rings-Serial (GC1MXEK) in the log-book.

Des Rätsel Lösung schlummerte schon mehrere Jahre in meinen Notizen. Heute ging es während einer kleinen Fahrradtour zum Outdoor-Teil. Ohne Probleme gefunden und geloggt.
Kleiner Hinweis.
Mit dem Fahrrad ist die Dose wg. umgestürzter Bäume derzeit nur von Osten erreichbar. Von Westen war kein durchkommen...

Eigentlich sollte es heute eine Letterbox in der Nähe werden. Aber der Planet 🌞 war mir dann doch zu heftig am Glühen.
Dann fiel der Blick auf diesen HdR-Cache, der zu meinem eigenen Erstaunen noch immer nicht 🌞gelb lächelt 😗.
Das Rätsel hatte ich schon vor laaanger Zeit gelöst, und auch den Bonus habe ich schon längst geloggt.
Schade😭, dass diese Reihe - teilweise - eingemottet wird. Die Caches waren allesamt an zum Thema passenden 🤗 Orten ausgelegt, und keine doofe Runde.

Die "Herr-der-Ringe" Cache-Serie wird noch bis zum Sommer 2026 zu finden sein. Dann werden die Caches archiviert. Wer bis dahin noch Bonusworte braucht, kann sich gerne melden.

Nachdem ich die richtige Stelle im Buch entdeckt habe ging es heute ins Auenland, um den Cache zu besuchen. Nach etwas umherirren im Zielgebiet habe ich mir dann doch den Hint angesehen. Selbst davon gibt es hier einige, doch bald war der richtige ausgemacht und ich fand die Hobbithöhle mit dem Cache darin.

Bei der nachmittäglichen Gassirunde durch den Odenwald, konnte dieser schon lange gelöste Ratehaken in ein lachendes Gesicht verwandelt werden.

Am Ende noch eine kleine Entschuldigung für meine manchmal sehr unkreativen Logs. Da ich eindeutig ein Adventurer bin, fehlt mir oft die Raffinesse zum Schreiben. Damit will ich in keinster Weise die Arbeit des Owners herabsetzen.
