The Castle of Schwerin has a long history. The first records of a castle at this location date from AD 973. There was a fort of the Polabian Slav tribe of the Obotrites on an island in the large Lake of Schwerin. Along the following years until the 19th century the castle was altered and rebuild over and over again. The changes were severe. The buildings from the medieval time are vanished completely.

If you want to learn more about the history of the castle you may read the boards in the park or visit the castle museum at the back side of the castle.

You will find the cache in the caves of the castle. Look for a place where you expect bats but do not climb on any stone and stay on the footpath.

Sehr schöner Ort. Das Schweriner Schloss ist wirklich wunderschön.

Bei dem Besichtigungsrundgang um das Schweriner Schloss kam ich auch an der Grotte vorbei. Mithilfe des Listingtexts und der Taschenlampe konnte ich schnell zugreifen. Auch die Muggel hatten anderes zu tun, als auf Cacher in dunklen Ecken zu achten.
