The roads on this map look like the grains of a timber panel, isn't it?This mountain to climb is the only one transverse to the Moselle river, all-sided to be growing with grapes.
At the right and left side you look at the old moselle valley. Millions of years ago it decided to get lost. Since then you see it in the place here. At the bottom of the Sonnenlay mountain there is one of the hottest places in Germany. (to be read at Wikipedia: 11.08.1998 - 41,2° Celsius)
The name of the mountain states why: In old moselle language Lay (also Lei or Ley) is the name of the slate. This slate stores the solar power and thus grows the Riesling grape, Mueller Thurgau, Optima or Ortega as well.
You leave your vehicle at N 49° 54.371 and E007° 00.495.
Please take care for some Muggles working here. They are particularly curious. Carry firm footwear.

Cacherevision. Die alte Box musste einer Rotho Box weichen, die einigermaßen wasserdicht ist.Das neue Logbuch wurde in einem Ziplock-Beutel belassen. Damit sind die größten Kritikpunkte behoben.
TB Helene musste mit, weil die neue Box kleiner ist als die alte.
Weiterhin viel Spaß beim loggen

Endlich kann ich mich eintragen. Diesen habe ich als Flachlandtiroler, mit meinem Schwiegervater, der von der Mosel kommt, gehoben. D.h. er ist geklettert und hat ihn mir im Anschluß herunter geworfen. Nachdem wir ihn endlich gefunden hatten (dachte ja nicht, dass ich ganz rauf auf den Berg müßte), war ich doch enttäuscht. Vorher gelesen, sah ich schon dass dieser Kleine doch eine Wartung nötig hatte, doch war vom letzten Logeintrag bis zum 01.05.08 einige Zeit vergangen. Leider wurde keine Wartung durchgeführt. Das Logbuch war von Nässe durchtränkt. Schade, schade, von der Ostsee bin ich anderes gewöhnt. Trotzdem hatten wir einen schönen Spaziergang auf den Sonnenlay, die Aussicht allein hat sich gelohnt.
