The Castle of Schwerin has a long history. The first records of a castle at this location date from AD 973. There was a fort of the Polabian Slav tribe of the Obotrites on an island in the large Lake of Schwerin. Along the following years until the 19th century the castle was altered and rebuild over and over again. The changes were severe. The buildings from the medieval time are vanished completely.

If you want to learn more about the history of the castle you may read the boards in the park or visit the castle museum at the back side of the castle.

You will find the cache in the caves of the castle. Look for a place where you expect bats but do not climb on any stone and stay on the footpath.

Ein Wochenende in Schwerin verbracht und natürlich auch auf Dosensuche gegangen. Hier musste ich ein Weilchen suchen, bis ich an der richtigen Stelle angekommen war. Denn GPS Empfang gibt es hier ja nicht mehr. Erstaunlicherweise war aber der Bereich muggelfrei, die liefen alle weiter hinten herum. Und so konnte ich ungestört loggen.

Auf den Spuren der Deutschlandtour stand für uns heute Schwerin auf dem Programm. Nach einem ausgiebigem Frühstück gings los, ein passender Platz fürs CM war schnell gefunden und dann schlenderten wir durch den Schlossgarten, den Burggarten und die Altstadt. Dabei konnte die ein oder andere Frage beantwortet werden, um das Labkonto nach oben zu treiben. 😉
Auf der Runde wurden auch einige Tradis angelaufen, gesucht, gefunden und die Logbücher signiert. Zum Abschluss ging es dann auch zu den beiden Bonuscaches.
