Ultimamente, como no passado, a Tecelagem da Seda tornou-se uma das rendas mais importantes de algumas aldeias em Datça. As bolas de seda resultantes do processo de ebulição são desenroladas e transformadas em meadas. Um casulo pode render aproximadamente um quilômetro contínuo de fio. Esses fios são tecidos em teares para serem transformados em vários itens de vestuário.
