Posthalterei Fischbach

Karl Anselm, 4th Prince of Thurn and Taxis founded this post house in Fischbach. This post house was one of 3 post house on the newly established post route from Munich to Innsbruck. Todays 4 sided building was built by postmaster Johann Evangilist Linmayer in 1802/03, after the old building completely burned down during some big fire destroying multiple building in Fischbach in 1802.

This building among the post house including stables and carriage repairs also housed a brewery including a beer cellar and a coaching inn. Among multiple other guests, this coaching inn was visited by tsar Alexander of Russia and king Ludwig I of Bavaria.

After the death of postmaster Linmeyer in 1843 this post house was owned by several people, before it was finally bought by the municipality of Flintsbach am Inn in 1971. Due to the bad shape of the post house, there were some emergency refurbishment in 1982/83.

Anno 2004/05 the post house was finally renovated completely, which wouldn't have been possible without the enormous help of the citizenship. Now the former post house includes 10 rental apparments, a bakery shop and a banquette. It also is the base of the Voluntary Fire Brigade of Fischbach.

The poststillion in front of the building, which is relevant for this cache, was added among other objects as construction art after the renovation.

Usage instructions for the box

The box has a screw top, Please simply rotate it as any normal bottle. On closing the box, please pay attention to not close it tilted and forcefully. There is no force or power necessary as my 9 year old daughter can operate the box. Please put the box together exactly as you found it and return it to the exact spot. (BYOP)
