Southernmost point of Sylt (Hörnum-Odde)

To log this virtual cache, a hike to Hörnum Odde is necessary. This can only be done during low tide. For this reason the terrain rating is also given as T=3.0.

The goal is to determine the current southernmost point of Sylt. Due to storm tides and hurricanes there are always break-offs and thus land losses. Therefore the point which can be reached by foot is moving further and further to north. The VC coordinates were created by us in August 2020. 12 years ago they were much more southern at that time! In this way we want to indirectly document the loss of land over the years

At the coordinates we had the impression that two currents meet (cross) there.

Log conditions:

• Go to VC coordinates at low tide. Find out the southernmost position you can still reach by dry feet and enter it in WGS84 format in your log.
• Take an individual photo of the beach (not the sea) with an individual object, V-sign, mascot or similar at the VC coordinates and attach it to your log.

Logs without coordinates and picture will be deleted.
