Just before the turn of the century villa architecture.
The villa Ecarius 1889-92 was built by brickyard owner George Gund for his two daughters, built in the style of Gründerstil. Kirrmeier, the founder of Celluloidfabrik, came from humble circumstances and became the century's most important entrepreneurs Speyer, which employed a thousand workers.
In 1918 resided in this pompous Villa a French general. Last building housed the social court.
Since 1972 the villa became the object of speculation. It strove for a demolition permit and wanted to build large buildings on the site.
Until 1976 the building was vacant and a home town and vagrants. The interior has been battered, neglected and have been vandalized.
End of 1970ger years, however, a citizens initiative saved the house from demolition. It would have been a shame to include the facade with terra-cotta reliefs, which have been fired in Speyer!
Today in the Villa, the city library, adult education and music school is located.

na das dürfte wohl der "bequemste Cache ever" sein. Bei diesem tollen Haus (ich würde sagen eines der schönsten in Speyer) gehört nun einer hin und wenn man den auch noch soooo entspannt loggen kann ist das schon was besonderes.

#26 Bei erstem Anlauf waren italienische Muggels im Weg, daher konnte erst nach zweiten Anlauf und nach #27 gefahrlos gehoben und geloggt werden. TFTC
