Dachsbusch is a nature reserve in the municipal area Glees in Ahrweiler (Rheinland-Pfalz). It was declared by the district government of Koblenz by decree-law of 17 February 1984. It has a size of seven hectares. Protective purpose is the preservation of the geological outcrop, particularly the periglacial slip fold, for scientific reasons.

The Gliding Fold in Glees
On the west side of the Dachsbusch a big gliding fold was developed due to digging. This gliding fold is a volcanologist and climate historically ground monument of great importance.
The origin of this geological attraction you can imagine are as follows:
During the various ice ages were the Rhenish Slate Mountains not glaciated. There was, however, permafrost during this cold period over longer periods of time. Also, the slope of the Dachsbusch with his ashes blanket was permanently frozen many feet deep. At times, this ground thawed in the upper 1 to 2 meters. Because of that the slope with wet ash began to slide down slowly. The seasonal changes alternated thawing (sunlit western slope) and refreezing often. The recurvaturezone of the gliding fold therefore characterized an isotherm, below the soil was permanently frozen for some time. Then the Dachsbusch was overflaunt by loess. This is visible as a thin yellow band. While the weather had still cold conditions with slope flow, flowed large pieces of basalt with loessmash downhill from the peak. This mentioned geological and climatic events probably occurred in the penultimate ice age.
At a later stage the Dachsbusch was showered by pumicetufferuptions on the eastern edge of the Wehrer cauldron. Through these deposits the gliding fold was protected from erosion.
In an outcrop on the western slope of Hill 371, you can see the age progression of the Wehrer-phonolite-ejecta. Here, the reddish Hüttenberg ejecta from the gray-Gleeser ejecta (top formation on the sliding fold) is superimposed.

Ja, auch ich bin dieser zum Teil verfallen und verfolge daher einige Ziele, die für jeden einzelnen Owner eines Caches auf dem ersten Blick nicht nachzuvollziehen sind. So gibt es zum Beispiel die Statistik "Loglänge, Wörter" die ich weiter konsequent verfolgen werde. Auch hier werden zum Beispiel beim Kooperationspartner project-gc.com sogenannte Edelsteine vergeben (verliehen für das Schreiben von längeren Logs), die ich über lang oder kurz auch erreichen möchte. Das bedeutet, dass ich diese abschliessenden Worte meines Logeintrages als Info per copy & paste nun seit Begin des Jahres 2021 in alle Folgelogs mit einbetten werde. Man möge mir dieses nachsehen und ich bedanke mich gleichermaßen für das Verständnis aller, die diese Zeilen nun unnötiger Weise gelesen haben. Zumindest sind auf diese Art nun noch für meine Statistik 281 Wörter zusammengekommen. Wer es nicht glaubt möge nachzählen. Falls ich mich doch verzählt haben sollte, freue ich mich über eine kurze Info, damit auch das korrigiert werden könnte. Bevor dir das aber in den Sinn kommt, um auch deine Zeit weiter zu verschwenden, noch diese ergänzende Info. Denn nicht nur irgendwelche Edelsteine treiben mich weiter voran, sondern natürlich auch das Thema Challenges. Hier denkt man manchmal, dass der Fantasie der Owner hierfür keine Grenzen gesetzt sind. So geht es zum Beispiel um das Erreichen einer vorgeschriebenen Mindestanzahl von Attributen, wie zum Beispiel "Hunde erlaubt", "Pferde erlaubt" oder "Lagerfeuer erlaubt". Aber auch das ist ja letztendlich jedem selbst überlassen, welche Kreationen dort verfolgt werden und was man erreichen möchte. Denn das Schöne bei unserem tollen Hobby ist ja auch, dass jeder sich seine Ziele selbst setzten kann. In diesem Sinne. Viel Spaß euch weiterhin damit!

Nachdem der Wehrer Kessel durchwandert worden war, bot es sich an ihn von oben zu betrachten und auch gleich noch die lokalen geologischen Besonderheiten zu bestaunen.
Sehr interessant und aufschlussreich, was dieser Aufschluss zu bieten hat.
Ich hoffe die geforderten Aufgaben vollumfänglich und vollständig erfüllt zu haben und erlaube mir hiermit diesen Earthcache als gefunden zu loggen.

Auf dem Rückweg vom kleinen Drachen wollte ich mir noch die Gleitfalte ansehen. Wow, das ist deutlich imposanter als ich gedacht habe. Da muss ich einen Favoritenpunkt spendieren.

Hier hatte ich vor vielen Jahren mal einen anderen Cache gelegt und freue mich nun, das dieser Ort weiter thematisiert ist.
