Geological Trail Ginkesweide

Hinsbeck lies in a geologically very varied and interesting part of the Lower Rhine lowlands. We are here on the western slope of the Süchtelner Höhen. This approximately 20 km long, flat ridge between Viersen in the south andHerongen in the north is broken by the river Nette.north of Hinsbeck.
1982 a 1.2 million years old erratic boulder (Tertiary quartzite) was found at Castle Krickenbeck and transported by a tank to that place here. Today, more than 100 different blocks of stone from all over Germany has been collected and put together in rock groups to a "geological nature trail in the Ginkesweide .

Task 3 :	Basaltische Lava is one of the Igneous Rocks (Magmatische Gesteine / Tephrit, Nephelinit). How old is lava shown here?
Task 4 :	Take a photo of you in front of the erratic boulder (see below). Later attach the photo to your log.

Gemeinsam mit Lettertrolline wurde heute bei einem kleinen Spaziergang durch diesen Park der hier liegende Earthcache besucht. Teils sind die Infotafeln leider in recht schlechtem Zustand, doch die zur Lösung relevanten sind noch erkenn- und lesbar. So konnten die geforderten Antworten erarbeitet werden.
Irritierend finde ich nur die Zuordnung eines bestimmten Gesteinstyps sowohl zu den Sedimenten als auch zu den magmatischen Gesteinen, ja was denn nun?

Heute haben wir den Lehrpfad abgelaufen un viel Interessantes erfahren.

Nach einem weiteren langen Tag rund um Wachtendonk mit viel Radeln stand für uns nur noch ein kleiner Ausflug in die Nachbarschaft auf dem Plan.

Zuerst schauten wir uns die Krickebecker Seen in der Dämmerung an, danach besuchten wir auch noch diesen geologischen Lehrpfad. Auch hier konnten wir alle Antworten gut finden und an den Owner schicken. DFDEC!

Heute haben wir den Geologischen Lehrpfad Gingesweide besucht.

Die Fragen konnten wir, bei einem kleinen Spaziergang durch die Gartenanlage, schnell und zügig beantworten.
