Die Suche für einen kleinen Laufausflug entlang der Schwechat genutzt. Traurig wie verdreckt die Au ist und unglaublich was die Leute alles ins Gewässer schmeissen. Zum .

Da wir in das Logbook nix eintragen konnten (weil waschelnass), haben wir unseren Ausdruck mit unseren Namen hinterlassen.

Trocknen konnten wir nichts, da dies mehrere Stunden gebraucht hätte und wir unter Zeitdruck waren.

Beinahe ein Drive-In Cache auf dem Rückweg vom Aderlass. Beinahe wär's durch die vielen Gelsen zu einem 2. Aderlass gekommen. Gefunden von und mit Helmut, dem Hellblütigen.

Nachdem ich zuerst sicherheitshalber das gegenüber liegende Ufer inspiziert hatte, hab' ich ihn auf der richtigen Seite dann rasch gefunden.

Gaaatsch! Wir hätten das Fahrverbot (ausgenommen Anrainer) beachten sollen! Ein schwerer Fehler, denn so hatten wir ca. 20cm Schlamm um die Reifen drumrum.
Di.Andre hat den Cache (wiedereinmal) sofort gefunden während ich noch im Gatsch "herumirrte".
Netter fast-Drive-In, wenn man nachher Auto waschen will...

Habe heute mit dem Rotenoktoberdiver via Bikes gegen Mittag den Cache gehoben.
Der Wald ist sehr dicht und mit Brenneseln verwachsen. Sonst ist es ein tolles Versteck.
Danke an Vagabund für den tollen Auflug.

Dank GPS mit Karte kamen wir von der richtigen Seite und hatten keine Probleme in das Cachegebiet vorzudringen. Nach einiger Suche fanden wir den Cache. Das Boden wa rzwar noch etwas feucht, aber nicht mehr gatschig. Bei Hochwasser in der Schwechat sollte man aber doch vorsichtig sein, es könnte sein das das Gebiet dann unter Wasser steht.

Wie heissts so schön? "Um neue Bergschuhe optimal einzugehen, soll man sie völlig nass drei Stunden tragen."
Da ich heute 50m vom Cache entfernt am falschen Ufer der Schwechat stand und weit und breit keine Brücke zu sehen war, hab ich den obrigen Spruch gleich mal auf seinen Wahrheitsgehalt überprüfen können.

Sehr netter Cache - hat mir gut gefallen ... und seinen Brudercache an der Gail krieg ich auch noch.

Dwarven Experience - Part 3:
As no one reported any problem and some finders stated that it took them only a few minutes I didn't expect much from this cache. But it turned out to be the most adventurous cache-hunt I've done so far in a very interesting floodplain-forest that I would not have expected at this place (although I know that the Schwechat-River flows by many charming places).

I left my car at Schafferhof-Siedlung, about 500 meters away from the cache. As I couldn't cross the field I walked to the eastern end of the forest, ignoring the little "bridge" there (= not seeing it). After a while I came to the little stream (that was in my map but which I had completely forgotten). As there was no one around to toss me I had to cross in an oldfashioned way: I managed to jump on to a midstream island, but from there to the othere side it was too far so I had to wade. It was a clever decision not to jump on the other side because the bank was so soft I would have sunken very deep.
Some time later my GPS decided that the cache is on the other side of the river. I remembered that this should not be the case according to the map, but the river did not seem to bend back (and at that time I thought that the map has lied before). But fortunately there was another "bridge-thing" ready for me. On the other side there was a nice path that led me near the cache. Guess what happened: I was on the wrong side of the river of course. Back to Gavriels Bridge (crossing it twice for no other reason than my own stupidity gives me the right to name it [:)]) and over the Schwechat again. To cheer me up a kingfisher hurtled by.
On my way to the cache I found evidence for the presence of furious cache-haters [;)].
The cache itself was easily found, the hiding place is quite obvious. The cache is in a good condition (and probably far away of the cache-hater's table).

On my way back I took a very easy path. The only trouble there was the "brigde" that I have missed earlier, because one end of the bridge leads into a thorn-bush.

It seems that everybody else has come from another direction.

Thanks for that wonderful morning adventure that was perfect for the finding of my 30th cache [:)]
