First I forgot to add one value at stage 1 and then I didn't find the sign at stage 4. But it didn't matter; found the cache when inspecting the place for a second time. Thanks.

Gemeinsamer Spaziergang mit Renata, Frustus und Lalex. Die Stationen haben wir schnell gefunden, der Final war zwar nicht so versteckt, wie wir zuerst dachten, aber nach zweimal Umdrehen hatten wir ihn in der Hand.

#6 der heutigen Tour ins Weizerische.

Die Aufgabe bei Station 2 ist leider so unklar formuliert, daß es mich komplett vertragen hat. Erst hab ich noch zwei (falsche) Kandidaten für Station 3 aufgesucht, wobei eine davon gemeinerweise wirklich einen leicht (aber falsch) gewundenen Baum aufzubieten hatte. Bei der vermeintlichen Station 4 kein Verbotsschild vorfindend und somit alle bisherigen Annahmen über Bord werfend konnte ich von da an nur mehr mit Wahrscheinlichkeiten und nach der Methode Versuch-und-Irrtum operieren. Mit Happy-End zwar, aber effizient ist trotzdem was anderes.

Ein schöner Spaziergang durch einen ruhigen Ort, allein manche Stationen sind nicht gerade typisch für St. Puprecht.
Zuletzt haben wir eine ganze Weile gesucht.

Unglaublicherweise (vermutlich) unbeobachtet loggen können.

I selected this cache due to its low terrain rating and the fact that a previous logger wrote that the cache is well suitable for strollers which strengthened my faith in the correctness of the terrain rating.

I had read some of the logs before we started off and had already expected problems in interpreting the tasks. The troubles we ran into were, however, larger than I had expected them to be. Cache descriptions like the present one are almost unbearable for a mathematician.

There was not a single stage where I was sure that we were using the interpretation the cache hider had in mind. Some of the previous logs even increased my confusion. At Stage 1 I came up with a result for A which consisted of three digits. Thus I neither understood the remark in the cache description that no leading zero should be used nor the comment in some logs that A had only two digits. As the coordinates which result from taking A-60 as part behind the comma, did not lie in St Ruprecht, I decided to insert a zero before A-60 although it is not nonsense to do so as the comma notation is uniquely defined.

At the obtained coordinates for Stage 2 we found green signs which fitted the description. We ended up with big problems as B and C are regarded. The values I obtained using a correct definition of digit sum did not make any sense (regardless of which interpretation of higher and lower we chose) - hence I tried to work with an iterated digit sum. This attempt led us to a tree which might be considered as
wringed tree.

We failed in coming up with a clear answer as the direction is regarded (most probably we were at the wrong place) and ended up with trying three out of four candidate locations for Stage 4. At the third one, we finally found a fitting sign and were able to continue to Stage 5. At this stage the comments in previous logs were very helpful for me to come up with the correct value for D which finally saved us as it provided us with the correct northern part of the coordinates. The calculation of D is wrongly described.

The coordinates we ended up with turned out to be wrong (most probably our values for B and C are wrong, maybe even the value for A). After having had a look at the obtained candidate location, we decided to use a different kind of approach. The map Alice had on her GPS helped us to find a promising target area. With the help of the hint, we finally found the cache.

As one of my relatives has been born in St Ruprecht, it was interesting to visit this village. Thank you for leading me there for the first time in my life. The area around the market square and the church are quite nice - some other parts of the village look very ugly and do not fit the style of a village on the countryside. I was not that impressed by the intermediary stages of the cache. They did not show me anything of special interest to me, but that's certainly a matter of taste.

(Comment: The TB is not in the cache and it would not even fit into the film canister. It appears that the cachers who got the TB at the cache quite a while ago, have still not logged the TB.)

Wieder mal zu einem Sonntags-Cache mit n.wiesenhofer aufgemacht.Leider hatten wir noch die falsche Formel am Ausdruck deshalb Verwirrung bei den Endkoordinaten. Da aber schon andere Cacher beim Buddeln waren, war uns schnell klar das muss es sein :) Am Weg zum Auto dann noch JulieWood_Rabat getroffen ("Hey i hab ma glei dacht den silbernen Ford kenn i") und kurz geplauscht. Offensichtlich hohe Cacherfrequenz :P

Gut gemachter Cache durch Sankt Rubrecht, schöner Spaziergang für mich und meine Kids

Heute am frühen Nachmittag aufgebrochen um diesen neuen Cache in meiner Nähe zu machen. Am Parpklatz, bzw. bei Sation 1 dann auch Pr3ach3rman getroffen und mit ihm die Runde abgegangen.
Mir erging es aber auch nicht besser als ihm.
Zitat 1: "Müss ma jetzt eine führende Null nehmen oder nicht?"
Aber auch was es mit den niedrigeren und höheren Zahlen auf sich hatte, war nicht einfach (physikalisch, wertmäßig [ab wann ist eine Zahl zu den "höheren zu rechnen"], usw.)
Und dann bei Station 5. Die Zahlen ohne Kommastelle addieren?
Zitat 2: "Müss ma jetzt aufrunden, abrunden, die Kommastellen einfach weglassen oder was?"
Aber schlussendlich doch noch den Cache gefunden und mit bedauern festgestellt, dass da schon jemand schneller war als wir.
Resümee (meins): Man sollte die Aufgaben bei den einzelnen Stages vielleicht etwas genauer beschreiben!

Hallo miteinander

Stage 1 war schnell gelöst, und als wir bei Stage 2 angekommen sind haben wir nichts gefunden. Auf den weg zurück zu Stage 1 haben N.Wiesenhofer & amarain lisa getroffen die uns unseren Fehler korrigiert haben. Der Rest des Caches war dann ein Netter Spaziergang durch St. Ruprecht der durchaus Kinderwagentauglich ist.

Bei diesem Cache musste ich einiges reiniterpretieren. Sei es die Existenz führender Nullen oder auch ob "niedriger und höher" physikalisch oder wertmäßig gemeint ist (beides führt zu schiefen Bäumen). Dann die Erkenntnis dass "ohne Komma" als *10 zu verstehen ist und anschließend noch eine falsche Formel die wie ich sehe inzwischen berichtigt ist.

Der Final ist nett, kanns aber auch nicht retten. Ich wünschte ich könnte ein anderes Urteil abgeben aber alles in allem war es für mich ein mühsamer Statistikpunkt ohne wirkliche Befriedigung.
