The cache serie “Gotteshäuser” includes caches nearby historical or architectural important church. It doesn’t matter which religion it belongs. The idea of this serie is based on the Kasseler Geocacher Event on 04.03.2005.

Everyone can take part in these cache serie. The caches should called “Gotteshäuser” and contain a hint to this serie. Please give some information about the church too. Hide the cache without to hurt the dignity. Perhaps you have to hide so that the waypointprojection shows the building.

The Maria-Magdalenen-Kirche was built in 1227 and was donated by duke Albrecht I. von Sachsen. The name of the church is based on a legend, which tells about the battle by Bornhöved. The holy Maria Magdalena covered the dazzeling sun, so she helps the germans to win against the danes.

In 1902 the church got their pointed tower. After the second worldwar the tower was pull down because their bricks was needed for repairing the churchroot. Only 1993 the church got their tower back.

Inside the church you can see a lot of nice things. But outside is a famous attraction too…..the pillory. Since 1558 the people have to do penance here. This was normal until the thirty-years-war, then exists a fine by money.

Nach dem Schaufelrad war das ja richtig trivial.

Während drinnen gerade das "Vater unser" Gebetet wurde fand ich draussen den Cache.

Habe erst einmal die vermeintlich richtige Lokation mit dem Ring abgesucht und nichts gefunden. Nach Umrundung der Kirche kam ich dann an die richtige Stelle und fand das begehrte Doeschen. Loggen konnte ich vor Ort, da niemand auf der Strasse zu sehen war.
