The Castle of Schwerin has a long history. The first records of a castle at this location date from AD 973. There was a fort of the Polabian Slav tribe of the Obotrites on an island in the large Lake of Schwerin. Along the following years until the 19th century the castle was altered and rebuild over and over again. The changes were severe. The buildings from the medieval time are vanished completely.

If you want to learn more about the history of the castle you may read the boards in the park or visit the castle museum at the back side of the castle.

You will find the cache in the caves of the castle. Look for a place where you expect bats but do not climb on any stone and stay on the footpath.

Nach dem Frühstück bei Nancy's Cafe (sehr lecker & preiswert) mussten natürlich die Kalorien wieder verbrannt werden. Bei guten Wetter einen wunderschönen Spaziergang im Burggarten unternommen, und natürlich Schätze gesucht. Dieser hier konnte zügig und muggelfrei geborgen werden. Danke für den Cache

#13165 Am 18.07.2025 um 12:45 Uhr gefunden. Heute stand für die ver.di-Betriebgruppe der DRV Bund in Stralsund, ein Besuch des Landtags auf dem Programm. Und nach dem offiziellen Teil, gabs noch einen Rundgang übers Gelände, den wir natürlich sofort nutzten, um diesen Cache zu finden. Nadine hatte ihn auch relativ schnell entdeckt und dann standen wir auch schon im Logbuch. Für den coolen Ort und die solide Dose vergebe ich auch gern einen Favoritenpunkt. Zumal auch das Schloß recht sehenwert ist und Geocaching soll einem ja schließlich schöne Orte zeigen. Vielen Dank fürs Verstecken!
