Description
My grandfather once told me the story of him being a foreign legionnaire in Vietnam.
The Légion étrangère was transferred to Indochina and stealed for jungle combat. Their drill instructor became Gunnery Sergeant Hartman. His name was program: a tough warhorse who already had spanked the Yankees in the Civil War. He ruthlessly whipped the recruits through this obstacle course.
"Gunny" found nicknames for the mercenaries like "Private Paula", "Joker" or "Desert Fox". Grandpa was soon called "Monkey" because he was so small that he could reach into the tiniest hiding places of the Vietcong.
That was necessary! Because the malicious enemy had buried himself in a huge tunnel system. Every entrance there was well camouflaged. Sometimes even in foldable shrubs or riverss. But Charlie had a weak point: they marked the trees around the entrances with glass splinters that glittered in the moonlight and were secret hints.
Grandma can't believe that because grandpa does not speak a single word Vietnamese ...
Why should he? He was not up to parley with the natives but meet and kill them.
What to do? Find the clues at night, the cache during the day.

Auch wenn ich den Film sehr mag, vor Ort konnte ich leider nix finden.

Opas Geschichten... ich hab sie inzwischen in mein Herz geschlossen. Was steckt dahinter? Also machte ich mich heute auf den Weg, näheres zu erfahren. Bei herrlichstem Sonnenschein musste ich schon genau nach den glitzernden Hinweisen schauen und der erste verleitete mich (Landratte) zur Fehlinterpretation. Allerdings sind die Alpen weit entfernt und so muss es wohl etwas anderes sein. Den zweiten fand ich sehr eindeutig. Die erste Möglichkeit war falsch, wohl oder übel war ein gewisses Attribut ernst zu nehmen und und ich nahm die zweite Möglichkeit in Augenschein. So konnte ich das Geheimnis lüften und mich ins Logbuch eintragen. Die ganze Suche hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht und meine Vorstellung vom Cachen vollstenst erfüllt.

did not find the geoacache
Wir haben den "Lichterschein" an den vorgegebenen Stellen gefunden. Doch trockenes Fußes mussten wir leider ohne Fund den Rückweg antreten. Schade ein DNF, aber eine tolle Ecke gesehen.
