On Safari for Light Switches of Public Lamp Posts
Log Requirements:
- Find a light switch which can be used to turn on lamp posts at a publicly accessible street or path.
- Note down the coordinates of the light switch and write them in your log.
- Take a picture of the light switch and the lamp posts together with you, your GPS receiver, or a personal item. Attach the picture to your log.
- Each switch can be logged only once and each cacher may log only one such switch.
You should not log:
- switches for lamp posts on private properties
- switches for house/room lights etc
- motion sensors
Example of a Log:
At the coordinates N 49 23.020 E 008 42.590 we found a light switch, which can be used to light up the path through the forest between the European Microbiology Laboratory (EMBL) and the neighbouring residential area for 15 minutes. This way, the scientists can reach their guest house by foot even after nightfall.
In your log, please write the coordinates required for logging using the format “N/S DD MM.MMM E/W DDD MM.MMM” (e.g. “N 48 00.000 E 008 00.000”), such that the location can be retrieved and displayed correctly by the Safari-Cache map!

Gerade hatten wir diesen Safari-Virtual entdeckt, da strahlte uns auch schon eine Laterne mit Lichtschalter an. Am Parkplatz zu GC7YQ50:

In Großdeuben bei Leipzig entdeckte ich heute eine Straßenlaterne mit dem gesuchten Schalter/Taster.
KOORDINATEN: N 51 14.324 E 012 22.817
DANKESCHÖN für diese " erhellende" Safari sagt ANNO1999.

Fein, an der zentralen Bushaltestelle "Mitte" in Wyk auf Föhr kann
man sich im Bedarfsfall die Wartelaterne anschalten.

Diese Lichtschalter im Landschaftspark von 01945 Kroppen/Brandenburg kenne ich schon länger. Auf einem Teilstück von Beginn der Parkbühne bis zum Sportplatz gibt es die Reihe Laternen, die man anschalten kann. Nun war ich mal wieder hier und dachte mir, das wäre gut für einen Safari-Cache. Und siehe da, den gibt es schon.

Ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass ich diese Safari so schnell loggen kann. Doch letzte Woche erzählte mein Sohn, dass er sowas unterwegs gesehen hat und da ich heute wieder ungefähr in der Gegend war, konnte ich die Logfotos dazu aufnehmen. Zwischen Weiprechts und Metzisweiler gibt es auf einer Strecke von ca. 250 einen beleuchteten Geh- und Radweg, bei dem man mittels Schalter die Laternen anschalten kann.
