This is a virtual
safari cache.
It's not bound do a fixed location, but can be solved at various places.

It's an important part of a real safari to find a lion... So this is also a safari about lions.
Your task:
- Find a sculpture which shows a lion or its head.
- Take a picture of the sculpture. The picture should show, that you have been at the sculpture personally, by showing yourself, a trackable or your GPS-device.
- Add the coordinates of your found to your log.
- Optionally: do you have any background information about the sculpture? Add this to your log.
- Every lion should be logged only once, each account should log only one lion.
We are looking only for sculptures, which show 3-dimensional lions. Illustrations, e.g. in arms, are not allowed. Real lions are not allowed either.
The picture in this listing shows a lion which is part of the "Remscheider Löwenparade" , there are much more lions in Remscheid which belong to this parade. It's located at N 51° 10.853 E 007° 10.395.

Hier in Bayern hat gefühlt jeder Kleinhäusler so einen Löwen vorn dran. Liegt wahrscheinlich daran dass im Wappen Löwen vorkommen. TFTC

Mein Löwe steht im Arthur-Brettschneider-Park am Geyserhaus in Leipzig.

Es gäbe in Leipzig noch viele Löwen zu entdecken. Vielen Dank für die Safari und den Spaß beim Suchen und Finden.

Gerade unterwegs in Montreal und sehe vier Löwen rund um eine Säule... könntest ja vielleicht eine Safari draus machen ... aber beim Checken musste ich sehen, diese gibt es schon -> aber zumindest kann ich diese dann loggen.

Bei einem Spaziergang heute Mittag in Coburg bei N 50 15.612 E 010 57.990 gleich zwei Löwenskulpturen gesichtet.

Der Löwe ist in München allgegenwärtig – ob bei den Statuen der Wittelsbacher, im Wappen des bayerischen Staates, oder im Logo vom Löwenbräu (geht auf Daniel in der Löwengrube zurück) und vom Fußballklub 1860, den „Löwen“.
Auf einer Verkehrsinsel in der Maximilianstraße vor der Isar-Brücke zum Maximilianeum steht bei Koordinaten
N 48 08.254 E 011 35.284
das sog. MaxZwo-Denkmal zu Ehren des bayerischen Königs Maximilian II.
aus dem Haus Wittelsbach. Auf der Rückseite befindet sich ein Löwe als
Symbol für seine königliche Stärke. Laut Wiki wurde das Denkmal von Kaspar von Zumbach entworfen, von Oskar von Miller gegossen und im Lahr 1875 aufgestellt.
