Once upon in old times....

A mighty king had here his hunting ground with hunting seatwhere his sons resided.

One day on a hunting excursion he found an old, frail woman. She had probably fallen from the Traunstein and dragged herself  up to here.
Now she implored the king around help. 
However, the king was angry, no human soul should stay  in his district. Thus he pulls out his double-edged hunting knife and rushed at the woman  to kill her.

 the earth shook - from the mouth of the old people there resounded a curse.
' Kranawitha my name .... I sees you know me well '.
Really he knew her name - nevertheless, she was one of the mightiest witches of the Salzkammergut-mountains.
7 times she hit with a stick against the rocks-at every stroke a spring arose.
The king became fear and Anxious - with giant strides he rushed to his hunting seat ...., however, it was empty...
The king withdrew into the rocks of the Traunstein - his castle went to ruin and still todayat stormy nights a crying and wailing could be heard...

The sons still wait for their redemption -until that time they refresh tired travellers fresh source water,
