Description
This is a virtual safari-cache.
It is not bound to a single place but can be found all over the world. The listing-coords are just an example.

Never ever a roman legionary or greek philosoph had sat his sandal into my homezone. But their pantheon is shown all around us. Our ancient nordic Gods seems to be vanished. Allthough their names still can be found in our week's days:
"Tuesday" -> Tyr, protector of the court.
"Wednesday" or "Onsdag" in DK -> Wodan (=Odin), allfather, God of war and death.
"Thursday" -> Donar (=Thor), God of weather and protector of Midgard (~we human beings).
"Friday" -> Frija (=Frigg), Godness of mariage and motherhood.
Safari & log-conditions:
• Find a painting, statue, fresko of a nordic / viking's God..
• Take a picture of it and personalize this by holding someting unique in front of the camera.
• Describe this Godness / Godhelper and her family-relation regarding the "Edda".
• Upload the picture and name the coords of the place where it was taken.
Insufficient are just the God's symbols (like Thor's hammer, Freyr's sickle or Odin's lightning).
Please don't upload any pictures from comics or films - because of the copyrights.
To know the questioned Ases and Wanes, here a short overview.
In the example-picture at N 54° 47.361 E 9° 26.038 a windbride, demon by Freyr, who is son of Njørd and Skadi.
If you find mediterranean Gods, maybe this safari would be your choice.

Über die "Drei Nornen" stolpert man in Ribe anscheinend an mehreren Ecken, nachdem die letzte Sichtung in der Innenstadt von Ribe sattgefunden hatte, konnte ich die drei Grazien heute im "Ribe VikingeCenter" finden, zusätzlich auch noch eine Infotafel über ihr Treiben.
Zu finden sind sie am Eingang des Centers bei N 55 18.590 E 008 45.937

Die drei Nornen...
Sie sind die Schicksalsfrauen der nordischen Mythologie. Sie bestimmen der Sage nach das Geschick jedes einzelnen Menschen von dessen Geburt an bis zu seinem Tode.
So sitzen sie zu Füßen der Weltenesche YGGDRASIL und spinnen die Schicksalsfäden der Menschheit.
Die hier in Gestalt einer Holzschnitzerei dargestellten Figuren sind im Wikinger-Museum in Ribe (Dänemark) zu finden. Passenderweise befindet sich dieses Museum an "Odins Platz" in der Stadt.
Wer dieses Museum besuchen möchte, der muss sich zu den Koordinaten N 55 19.683 E 008 46.118 begeben.
Da bleibt uns nur zu sagen, vielen Dank für die schöne Aufgabe und dafür, wieder einmal mit offenen Augen durch die Welt zu gehen.

Diese Kettensägenarbeit stellt den nordischen Gott Thor da! Links unten ist sein Hammer Mjölnir erkennbar. Thor galt als Wettergott und der Wurf seines Hammers erzeugte Blitze und Donner! In den mythologischen, eddischen Schriften galt Thor auch als Beschützer Midgards!
Gefunden auf dem "Alten Postweg" Nottuln-Darup!

Wir haben heute Odin gefunden. In seinem Restaurant in Langballigau haben wir ein schönes Fischbrötchen gegessen und dazu einen Kaffee getrunken.
Odin ist der Göttervater, ein großer Name für einen kleinen Fischkutter.

Für einige Safaricaches mit Wikingerbezug bot es sich natürlich an, die „Wikinger-Hauptstadt“ Schleswig aufzusuchen. Dort gibt es einen sehr interessanten und lohnenswerten Spazierweg durch das 7. Stadtquartier; Einzelheiten siehe unter www.lollfusser-mythenpfad.de.
An N54° 30.891 E009° 33.203 fand ich eine Skulptur der Wanengöttin Freya. Weitere Infos auf der Infotafel (Foto2).
