The Rhine Falls in Neuhausen (near Schaffhausen) is one of the three largest (concerning the water flow) waterfalls in Europe. Depending on the season, the average runoff varies between 250 and 600 cubic meters/second. The Rhine Falls have a drop heigth of 23 meters and a width of 150 meters. The depth of the basin ist 13 meters.
Most of the viewpoints on the Rhine Falls (below Laufen Castle) cost an admission fee and offer magnificent views of this natural force. It is also worth to walk down from Laufen Castle to the landing stage and walk down the riverside for a while.
The tourist parking near the listed coordinates do cost a fee and are relatively expensive. But if you want to go to Castle Laufen anyway, I recommend you to park there because there is a free parking area (anyway the time I was there) and the small walk is recommended.
To log this virtual cache, please take a photo of yourself or with a personal item at the Rhine Falls.

cherry_s und ich haben die 3-Länder-Karte genutzt, um die eine oder andere Attraktion aufzusuchen. Und so kamen wir nach ein par GC-Dosen in der Schweiz auch hier vorbei.
Was für ein Spektakel!

Heute ging es zu dem wunderschönen Rheinfall und das Wetter hat gepasst. Was für Naturgewalten und natürlich musste ich diesen Virtual loggen ... und dann ging es schon weiter, da noch unbedingt die Bootstour gemacht werden musste.
