Description

ATTENTION - moving geocache - ATTENTION

This is a combination of a "mobile cache" + "Webcam cache".

The geocache is not necessarily at the above mentioned coordinates!
These relate only to the home port: Tromsø

Go to the coordinates instead: → Latest Position ←

picture: hurtigruten.no

You will be in front of a webcam that takes a picture every few minutes.
Now you need someone to save the picture of yourself taken by the webcam or save it as a screenshot on your smartphone.

Name in your log, the location and the associated coordinates.

To log this cache, you have to post this picture.
The picture should allow to identify you as a geocacher.

How you do that is up to you, if you want:
holding up an umbrella, banners, warning vests, balloons, headlights, or cheering into the camera... all the purpose is welcome

If the webcam is offline, please take a photo of yourself or your GPS/smartphone, showing the ship in the background.

ACHTUNG - Moving Geocache - ACHTUNG

Note 26 April 2020 broiler wrote a note

I just found the webcam archive of the MS Nordlys.

This seems to save the 10minutes roundviews of the shipwebcam for at least one year.

As I clicked on the link by panomax the stream told me, that it can go back only one month but suddenly it opened the timeline for at least one year. As I was looking for the 23th of July 2019 it was enough for my purpose. Perhaps it goes deeper back into time?

Found 23 July 2019 broiler found the geocache

The day before we took the hurtigruten MS Richard With from Stockmarknes to Svolvaer. We had an accomodation for two nights at the mole in Kabelvag. Suddenly at the evening of 22th of July (8:45 pm) there was a long and loud honk which was answered by another loud honk and "our" MS Richard With (going south) crossed with the MS Mitnatsol (going north).

At the next evening we were prepared and waited at the mole. Accurate at 8:45pm the MS Nordnorge (going south) and the MS Nordlys (going north) crossed with a lot of noise.

Today (26.4.20) I found the webcam archive of the MS Nordlys. To be honest, I can't see us four standing at the mole (perhaps we are smaller than one dot), but we were there as the picture of the crossing ships prooves.

If this is not enough for logging a found please feel free to delete the log.

Greetings,

broiler
