Emsland 1945 # 3 bombs on Behnes Busch
1945 -As the war came to the Emsland ...
Tuesday, April 17th 1945
Borsum and Rhede be occupied by the Allies. Canadians and Poles are south of the coastal channel in Dörpen.
In
Aschendorf NSDAP district leader Gerhard Buscher orders the
"Volkssturm" in Behnes Busch at Gut Altenkamp to give orders, and
distribute tobacco and cigarette rations. The farmer Josef Tangen from Herbrum followed this command despite concerns his wife's him with the words "job bliev here. Doar so Bünt veäle Flägers in de air "restrain attempts.

Die heutige "nach dem Feierabend auf der Werft"-Runde führte mich nach Aschendorf und rund um Aschendorfermoor in eine Gegend, in der ich schon öfter unterwegs gewesen war, die aber immernoch diverse neue Wege bereit hält. 11 Caches standen heute auf dem Program, einen davon konnte ich leider nicht finden, wird also wohl nicht meine letzte Tour in der Ecke gewesen sein
Hier im schönen Wald konnte ich gut fündig werden.
Danke an deaktiviert fürs Legen und Pflegen und Bereichern meiner heutigen Runde!
