PALIÓ SINIÉS...
...is a ghost village on the east side of Mount Pantokrator (906m NN). Most of the houses are roofless ruins. The last residents moved before World War II.
In the church you can still find a rest of nice frescoes. Don't miss to visit the chapel at N 39 44.720 E 19 52.971(WP4), where the 12 apostles can be seen.
Thirsty hikers may get some fresh water at the spring at N 39 44.758 E 19 52.924 (WP5)
HOW TO GET THERE
The gravel road to Palió Siniés is not recommend for normal cars or scooters. It's better to use a jeep, enduro, mountain bike or walk. Either you start the road uphill from Vinglatsouri or you approche the village downhill from Mt. Pantokrator and pass the Ouzo 2 cache (visit link) on half way. For this second option I'll give you a discription:
- leave the paved road to Mt. Pantokrator at WP1 (N 39 44.850 E
19 51.931)
- follow the gravel road to WP2 (N 39 45.318 E 19 52.676). If you
are a good driver and know how to handle your car very carefully
you can go on this garvel road by car.
- parking your car at WP2 is recommended. Jeep drivers can go
on
- turn to the right and follow the gravel road untill you come to
the gate at N 39 44.594 E 19 52.911. From there you need to
walk.
...is hidden 30m southeast of the bell tower at the backside of a house in a hole in the wall approx. 0,5m above ground. It's a small plastic box that contains a logbook, pencil and some small trading items.

This year, Fl0ydt and I chose Corfu as destination for our summer holiday. (Well, truth be told, it was me in the first place and Fl0ydt only managed to tag along through happy circumstances.) We'd decided to spite my knee trouble and our lack of long-distance hiking experience and try to walk the Corfu Trail, lugging the full monty - tent and all - across the whole island. After ten days and many, many kilometres filled with picturesqueness, peals of laughter and, yes, large amounts of pain, we managed to lay our hands on the walls of the church in Agios Spiridon, filled with lots of happy experiences, pride and the perhaps all too delible conviction of never going to such arduous lengths again.
Given Locke's foolproof description, this was an easy take.

dieser Log wurde auf Englisch verfasst, weil mir das Spaß macht und weil Geocaching ein internationales Hobby ist, dem auch Leute frönen, die des Deutschen nicht mächtig sind und die sich - ebenso wie ich, wenn ich ins Ausland fahre - freuen, wenn ihnen ein englischsprachiger Log hilft zu entscheiden, ob sie einen Cache angehen sollen oder nicht.

This cache hasn't been found for a long time and the description at geocaching.com differs from this one: coordinates, Description, where the cache is hidden, Spoiler.
The guidelines of opencaching.de refer to this item:
If the geocache is published at other sites, you should keep the description complete and actual on all sites. Updates of the description have to be contemporary on all the other platforms.
The owner should update this listing to the actual conditions so that this cache is to be found from this site; until then I change the status to "Momentan nicht verfügbar". If I don't get a feedback within a month (that is till 13th of april 2016), I will archive this cache.

geloggt am 09.05.11 13.30 Uhr, toller Cache in wunderschöner Gegend -Danke fürs Legen!!! Anfahrt laut Beschreibung über die Wegpunkte von der Pantokrator-Zufahrt (mit Jeep) - Rückfahrt auf der größtenteils neu geteerten Straße Richtung Vinglatouri /Nissaki (auch mit normalem PKW möglich, aber sehr verwinkelt)
