El 26 de junio de 1969, el entonces Alcalde de Madrid, Carlos
Arias Navarro, en compañía de su esposa, realizaba el viaje
inaugural del Teleférico Rosales-Casa de Campo, en una cabina
engalanada con banderines de fiesta.
La empresa Teleférico de Rosales, se constituyó el 6 de septiembre
de 1967. Previamente, por acuerdo plenario del ayuntamiento del 19
de julio de ese mismo año, se le había adjudicado por 35 años la
concesión de una parcela de 1.500 metros en la Casa de Campo para
sus instalaciones. En la actualidad, la empresa pertenece al Grupo
Parques Reunidos.
El teleférico fue construido por al empresa suiza Von-Roll tras un
año de intensos trabajos. Desde entonces hasta ahora -el Teleférico
está a punto de cumplir cuarenta años de historia- este medio de
transporte aéreo ha hecho las delicias de los madrileños y de los
miles de visitantes que se han llevado de recuerdo las mejores
vistas de la ciudad.
El teleférico cuenta con cafetería y baños, también en las
cercanías hay una fuente potable. Interesante para una parada o
pequeño descanso.
