GC-Log: Hier haben wir eine unglaubliche Wanderung entlang der Vulkanroute gemacht. Jeden Augenblick wurden wir durch neue Eindrücke überrascht und sind rundum begeistert, von dem was wir sahen. Natürlich haben wir zu diesem netten Cache noch einen kleinen Abstecher gemacht.
Vielen Dank fürs Verstecken!

Herrlich, die alten Caches aufzusuchen! Die waren noch an Stellen versteckt, wo es noch hieß, aus sich der Komfortzone heraus zu bewegen!
So auch bei diesem. Das galt auch ganz besonders für mich an dem Tage, musste ich doch erst ettliche Höhenmeter vom Deseada II absteigen und dann noch dem Log wieder hoch...
Aber für diese (toll gebaute) Dose tat ich das doch gerne !!

Nice one on the ruta de los vulcanes. I first was a little out of ideas, but then saw the well distinct psi and there it was.

wir kamen von westen und sind die LP-210 hochgefahren, haben dort geparkt und sind in einer gluthitze losgelaufen, weil die navi nur noch knapp 2 km anzeigte. wir haben uns den ganzen berg hochgekaempft und als der weg sich nach re und li gabelte, zeigte die navi geradeaus - super ! wir sind eimal nach rechts gegangen und da sich kein erfolg zeigte, wieder zurueck und dann nach links - ebenfalls ohne erfolg, wir kamen dem cache nicht naeher. dann haben wir abgebrochen, da es immer heisser wurde. schade, wir haetten gerne travelbugs deponiert. wieder was gelernt, die position bei google entspricht nicht der tatsaechlichen position.

Eine wunderschoene Wanderung - ein echter Hoehepunkt des La Palma Wanderurlaubs!
Dieser Cache war natuerlich Pflicht. Als ich mich gerade vom Cache aufmachte, kamen weitere Leute "von oben" heraubestiegen - es muessen wohl Cacher gewesen sein, die einen etwas unkonventionellen Weg gewaehlt haben.

Eight years ago I had done the volcano tour. Eight years ago I had passed this cache-box without even knowing about geocaching. Eight years have passed without a visit to this wonderful island.
But somehow that holiday in 2002 had been the start of my geocaching "carrer". How? I can vividly remember one of our first hikes on La Palma: We stood on Pico Birigoyo and I was calibrating my electronic altimeter. At a pillar at the peak someone had written "xy metres measured with my GPS". And I think that was the initial moment when the desire for a GPS receiver awoke. One year later I bought my first Magellan Meridian Platinum. And another year later, in 2004, I searched and found my first geocache. Quite foreseeing I wrote into my first log: "I fear that I am infected now." How true...
So it was a duty and an honour to visit this cache on La Palma. And it is really an old style cache. (I say this in the meaning of a compliment.) It is a long walk to the location, it is not the easiest terrain (two steps up, one sliding down) and you really have to search. And in the end, you may be proud to have found it.
At least I was at 13:00!

Auf der Vulkanroute waren wir schon öfter unterwegs, aber diesmal zum ersten Mal en passant als Schatzsucher. In Zielnähe hat das (eigentlich gute) Gerät mehrfach ausgeschlagen und die Richtung geändert, so dass wir eine Weile suchen mussten, aber das war schließlich von Erfolg gekrönt. Kurios: Nur kurze Zeit vor uns war ein weiterer Cacher erfolgreich. Eine traumhafte, aber bei der Hitze durchaus auch anstrengende Tour.

Bei der großen Vulkantour sehr gut gefunden. Ist eine Einzigartige, lohnende Tour.

Kerstin and me spend one week on La Palma.
Our first holiday on beautifull La Palma and thanks to geocaching we discovered many beautiful spots. We found 8 caches - some of them were more or less easy and others were pretty tough. We would like to thank all cache owners for showing us "their" La Palma with placing those caches!

We started in afternoon and were back with sunset. Incredible views !!!

20 Minuten nach einem anderen deutschen Cacher gefunden.

Von dem Psi-geformten Baum konnte ich nichts sehen, obwohl ich Mathematiker bin ( oder deshalb???)

War einer von zwei Caches auf der Vulkan-Route.

Dies war der erste Cache auf La Palma, aber einer der letzten, den wir in unserem Urlaub gehoben haben. Das Wetter war auf unserer Wanderung wieder perfekt und wir hatten eine schöne Weitsicht über die Wolkendecke auf die Nachbarinseln.

15.20 We started out on the Ruta de los Vulcanes at El Pilar. After passing Deseada I and II (our turning point) we realized this cache was not very far away...
So we headed steeply downwards and upwards again. Pu went to the cache downwards which was maybe not the best choice..this was really the most perilous cache for us on La Palma.
But we were rewarded with a nice TB.
Then the climb back to Deseada II started... enough for today!

Das war mein erster Cache fern der Heimat. Unsere Wanderung begann bei El Pilar und folgte immer der Vulkan-Route. Meine Familie gab schon bei Hoyo Negro auf und trat den Rückweg an. Ich bin dann noch weiter unbeirrt bis zum Cache gewandert, wenn es bergab ging auch gelaufen. Herrliche Ausblicke in bizarrer Landschaft. Man sollte den Cache "von unten" nehmen (siehe Tipp) Ich hatte nicht noch einmal nachgelesen und kam von oben, ging aber auch recht gut. Danke für den Cache!

This was my first cache abroad. Our hiking tour began at El Pilar following the volcano tour. My family resigned at Hoyo Negro and went back. I went on hiking to the cache, running when possible (downhill). Wonderful views in a bizarre landscape. Thank you for this cache!

Found this cache after a long walk. We started from EL Pilar and had to return to there...
Most time there were clouds but we also had some nice views when the sun came through.

We found the cache after a 3.5h (incl. breaks, taking pictures, etc.) walk across the vulcanos.
Great tour, fantastic landscapes and after a few minutes of searching, we found the mentioned tree. The bags are wet, but the cache itself is in a good condition.
Afterwards we made a wrong decision : we took the way down to the lower trail back to El Pilar ! This path is like bubble gum - it never ends. 25km and 8.5h in total. Our adwise : choose an other way !

Nach einer schönen Höhenwanderung mit herrlichen Ausblicken kamen wir zum Cache. Schwer zu finden war die Stelle nicht, doch mußten wir in unberührtem Gelände etwas herumtrampeln. Ich hoffe mal, das die nächsten Kiefernnadeln alles wieder fein abdecken. Da wir die Verkehrsmittel in Fuencaliente nicht kannten, vertrauten wir lieber aufs eigene Auto. So ging es die ganze Strecke wieder zurück und wir kamen auch auf knapp 20km. schöner Ausflug!
Der Cache ist in gutem Zustand, obwohl die Box durch vorherige Grabeversuche einen leichten Riß hat. Hinweis für die nachfolgenden: Es geht auch ohne Schaufel ganz leicht, denn wir hatten auch nur unsere Hände.


After a beautiful hiking tour with a marvellous view we came to the cache. It was not difficult to find the place but we had to search in an untouched countryside. I hope the jaw-needles will cover this place again. We did not know the public transportations in Fuencaliente and so we took our own car. All together we drove 20 km. It was a nice trip!
Although the box has a small gap, the cache is in a good condition. A hint for following diggers: It is also very easy without a shovel because we also had our hands only.
