1914 were inaugurated the dam Edersee, one of the biggest and most beautiful dams in Germany. By the building of the dam about 700 humans lost their traditional habitat. The 3 villages Bringhausen, Asel and Berich were flooded by the Edersee. The inhabitants of Bringhausen and Asel were settled above their sunk places again. The municipality Berich was again created as Neu Berich with Arolsen. , Harbshausen and Nieder-Werbe. Herzhausen lost several yards and a majority of their fruitful field. Still today the foundation walls of the sunk villages are to be visited starting from late summer with low tide. The old bridge with Asel can be crossed even still on foot. Further information on the homepage: http://www.edersee.de The Cache is on an island and can in the late summer/autumn very well be attained on foot (suitable footwear), if the lake is filled, best with a boat. Muggel - hazard!

The idea for the Cache came, when I drove around the Edersee with my wife on the bicycle (over 50km). Very recommendable!

14. juillet 2007 Concze trouvé la géocache

Hallo,

war eine schöne Tour über den See, habe mir von meinem Bruder das Boot ausgeliehen, da das Wetter nicht so berauschend war die Tage vorher, war auch nicht viel los auf dem See und die Insel nicht ganz so vollgesch.... Aber leider war kein Cache zu finden. Vielleicht zerstört durch Geomuggel??? Vielleicht mal nachsehen

Danke trotzdem für die schöne Tour in herrlichem Ederseewetter und fast alleine auf dem See

Leider ist der Cache weg, wurde jetzt neu gelegt an einer anderen Stelle und ist jetzt ein Micro.

Trocknen Fusses die Insel erreicht, der See ist ja total leer! Leider sehr viele Muggels unterwegs, deshalb mussten wir etwas warten, bis wir den Cache loggen konnten.
Sehr schönes originelles Versteck!
