For our first cache we picked an interesting spot just outside Vetulonia. Vetulonia is probably best known for its etruscan tombs, which are well worth a visit.
Opening hours of this site vary during the year, in the summer months you should be safe if you arrive before 6 pm.
The Tomba della Pietrera was discovered in 1892 by Isidoro Falchi, a local doctor and archeology-enthusiast. We were wondering who was buried here and we came up with the story of „Karl-Heinz, the Great Etruscan“, hence the name of the cache. Probably not very accurate historically, but quite entertaining.
There is no need to leave the paths. Please make sure you don't destroy anything while looking for the cache (we didn't either when hiding it) and please hide the cache in the same spot.

Dem Vorlog zufolge ist der Cache weg. Der Owner sollte hier dringend vor Ort erscheinen und die Lage überprüfen, bis dahin setze ich den Status auf "Momentan nicht verfügbar". Sobald der Cache wieder gesucht werden kann, so kann dieses Listing durch den Owner selbständig über ein "kann gesucht werden"-Log reaktiviert werden.

Wir waren vor Ort,konnten aber nicht in das umzäunte Gelände hinein. Die Grabstellen haben Dienstag und Donnerstag geschlossen...

die Gräber gefunden. Sehr interessant und beeindruckend. Schnell

Urlaub in der Toscana, und dank des Caches besuchen auch die Kinder gerne ein Etruskergrab. Die Suche war in glühender Hitze sehr anstrengend - nächstes mal warten wir auch auf einen Regentag 
PS: hätten nicht gedacht, dass Karl-Heinz so ein Kirchweih-Fan ist und sich Fahrt-Chips bunkert.
